General Information Intermedica ophthalmological clinics have been undergoing intense development for many years, maintaining consistently the highest standards of procedures of laser eye defect correction and cataract treatment.

In 2010, we changed our name into Lexummedica as the result of the merge with the international network of ophthalmological clinics operating within Lexum Group

Lexum Group

On 21 January 2010, Intermedica became a member of LEXUM group. LEXUM group is a leading network of private ophthalmological clinics in the Czech Republic, both in terms of medical standards and their size.

Network of LEXUM group’s facilities consists of ophthalmological clinics in Prague, Ostrawa, Brno and Czech Budziejowice. In 2009, more than 12 500 cataract removal treatments and more than 5 700 refractive surgeries were performed.

Lexum was established in 1993 by Prof. Martin Filipiec, former Director of the Ophthalmological Clinic of the First Medical Department at the Charles University in Prague. He participated in many internships and student exchanges in ophthalmological clinics in France and in the USA (Hotel- Dieu, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary).

Shares of Lexum group belong to ARX Equity Partners company, which is the leading company managing private equity funds in the Central Europe. Prof. Filipiec, the founder of Lexum, became a significant shareholder in Lexum group.

Lexum ophthalmological clinic is a world known training center regularly visited by international ophthalmologists. Doctors from Lexum ophthalmological clinic lecture at the world conferences and publish their experiences in the most renowned specialist magazines.

ARX Equity Partners

ARX is a company managing private equity funds in the Central and Eastern Europe. The company has offices in Warsaw, Budapest, Prague and Bucarest. The shareholders of the funds are well-known financial institutions. The mission of ARX funds is to invest in eastern and central European companies at so-called later development stage. Investments take form of expansion financing , acquisition in cooperation with the current management (MBO), purchase with participation of the new management (MBI) or acquisition of the company for consolidation of a given sector. On 21 January 2010, Intermedica became a member of LEXUM group.
